Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill, located near the center of Washington, DC, is the densest area in the city with nearly 35,000 people in what is known as the largest historic residential neighborhood.  Made up mostly of rowhouses, the variety of architectural styles mixed with manor houses gives the eye a lot to look at and appreciate.

Residents can appreciate the many commercial corridors including Barracks Row and Pennsylvania Avenue which leads you to the very popular Eastern Market.  The market provides a place for residents to purchase local meats, seafood, produce and flowers.  On weekends, it also provides a place for vendors to sell crafts, plants and homemade jams soaps to name a few.

The area’s most well known landmark is the United States Capitol but it is also home to the Supreme Court building, the Library of Congress, the Marine Barracks, the Washington Navy Yard, and Congressional Cemetery.
